Complete Guide to Vegan Options in Disneyland (October 2025)

Welcome to Disneyland! Let’s eat some vegan food!

A few tips and notes before we begin:

If these guides are helpful to you and you would like to show your appreciation, you are welcome to buy me a Dole Whip 😊

If you have any photos that you would like to contribute to the blog, I’d love to have them so that I can post them here, with credit to you of course! Please message me on Instagram 😊

I update these guides continuously, and I change the month/year in the title of the post to reflect when it has last been updated.

I try to update things as quickly as I can and reply to messages, but it is sometimes too much to keep up with, so please be understanding if there is a delay! Thank you!

Also, please keep in mind that I am just a guest, like you, and I have no control over any decision made at Disneyland. If you would like to express how you feel about the (lack of) vegan options, please send Disneyland an email or comment on one of their official social media accounts.

For quick service locations, you can mobile order with the Disneyland app. Most locations allow both mobile ordering and standby lines, it sometimes depends on the restaurant and the day. I would suggest looking on the app about an hour before you’d like to mobile order, just to make sure that there are mobile order windows available, because it can get backed up when it’s busy.

If you would like to eat at a Table Service restaurant, you should try to make a reservation on the Disneyland app or website. You can make table service reservations up to 60 days in advance, and for some restaurants, they will get booked within minutes of becoming available. I suggest setting your alarm for 6am on your 60-days ahead day, and going on the website and trying to book. If there aren’t any times available, keep checking back in case there are cancellations, and in case they add more capacity.

Another option is to use Mouse Dining – they can send you email alerts of when reservations become available.

On the day you are in the park, however, if it’s not too busy, you can often get lucky as a walk-up. Look on the map on the app and find the restaurant, and see if it has the option to “Join Walk-Up List,” and then you can just join there. You can also go ask at the host stand. I almost always do walk-ups and I’m almost always successful, but if it’s really busy, then sometimes you have to just go for quick service instead.

By the way, nothing below is meant to be health food; rather, it is theme park food. Whenever I have access to ingredients lists, I do post photos of them, but this is not so that you can pick them apart for not being healthy enough. The point of showing the ingredients is that I’m trying to be helpful and show how the item does not contain meat, dairy, eggs, or honey. I have no control over what goes into the food, so I do not need to hear about it when you think something isn’t healthy enough. I pour a lot of time, effort, and money into maintaining this website, and I do all of this research for you for free, so I appreciate you not leaving negative, unhelpful comments about whether or not the food is healthy enough. Any health policing comments will be deleted 😊

Table Service:

Blue Bayou

As with all table service restaurants in Disneyland, it can be tricky getting in. Please see the top of this blog post for all of my tips on dining reservations.

(If you’re interested in the Fantasmic Dining Package here, please see the section on those at the bottom of this blog post.)

Blue Bayou has been changing its menu quite often lately, I think basically once per season.

Blue Bayou has been great in the last few years about always keeping one clearly marked vegan option in each section of the menu: starter, entree, and dessert. And this most recent menu is no exception! The items that I list below are vegan without modifications because they are marked with the plant-based menu icon. Please see the top of this blog post for more information about that.

As of August 2025, the vegan starter, entree, and dessert are as follows:

Starter:

Heirloom Tomato & Watermelon Salad
Arugula, Agave Crema, Pickled Watermelon Rinds and Shallot Vinaigrette

Entree:

Pistachio Lemon Basil Pasta
Leeks, Spinach and Cherry Tomatoes in Pistachio-Basil Pesto

Dessert:

Crème Brûlée Tart:
Vanilla Bean Crème Brûlée in a Tart Shell

I asked the server about what this was made from out of curiosity, and he asked the chef, who said that the base was cashew cream, coconut milk, and soy milk. It has been a long time since I’ve had creme brulee, so it is hard for me to compare it to others, but it was incredible in my opinion. Very silky and smooth underneath the torched sugar top layer. 10/10 definitely recommend!!

They also have an array of alcoholic and non-alcoholic drinks, for example the 31 Royal Street Signature Julep: a refreshing blend of Watermelon and Citrus, with a bouquet of Mint and Basil. Super refreshing and tasty. ⁣

⁣They now offer an array of wines, beers, and cocktails. The cocktail, Hurricane, appears to be vegan. You can look up any of the beers and wines on Barnivore if you are so inclined!⁣

Below is a Mint Julep with a Hurricane in back:

Café Orleans

They change this menu often, and below is the new menu from January 2025. There is a starter, entree, and dessert that are all labeled with the plant-based menu icon, meaning vegan without modifications.

Sweet Potato and Lentil Hummus: Lemon Oil, Pomegranate, Sunflower Seeds and Lavash

I loved this one! Seemed quite fancy with the lemon oil and pomegranate seeds. Really a nice variety of flavors and textures. I couldn’t really taste the lentils, it was mostly the sweet potato flavor in the hummus. And the smoked paprika sprinkled on top made it super yummy as well!

Smoked Tomato Risotto: Carolina Gold Rice, Mushrooms and Herbs

They have had many iterations of different risotto dishes at Cafe Orleans in the past few years, and this newest version is probably my favorite! The smoked tomato sauce was super tasty, and there were a variety of mushrooms – I think shiitake, baby bella, and chicken of the woods, and maybe more I couldn’t identify. The risotto was so creamy and satisfying, such perfect comfort food on a cold day! The garnish on top is green apples, I believe, which I didn’t really understand, but I’m not a risotto expert, so maybe I’m missing something there. In any case, they seemed to go fine with the other flavors.

Crème Brûlée Tart: Vanilla Bean Crème Brûlée in a Tart Shell

Having a vegan creme brulee available in a theme park is still mind-blowing to me, even though it’s been a few years since they first introduced it. It comes in a tart shell now, so it looks a bit different from the older version that was in a ramekin, but it is still just as tasty in my opinion! So soft and decadent and smooth and satisfying!

Carnation Cafe

Here are the new menu photos for your reference:

For lunch and dinner, they still have their same housemade vegan burger that they have had for many years:⁣

Hearty Veggie Burger:⁣
House-made Bean Patty, Chipotle Mayo, Lettuce, Vine-ripened Tomatoes, and Pickled Onions on a Whole-Grain Bun served with your choice of fresh Fruit or Seasoned French Fries.⁣

The dish is labeled Plant-based, which they define as containing no animal-based meat, dairy, eggs, or honey.

You can get it with either fries or fruit. Please see my FAQ for information about shared fryers at Disneyland.

Here is a recent photo of it with fries:

And here it is with fruit:

I really love this burger! I have had it many times, and it never disappoints. It’s a solid veggie based burger where you can still see all the vegetables inside. It has a bit of a kick due to the chipotle mayo.

Here’s what it looks like cut in half:

New on the menu is this starter salad, the Carnation Garden Salad: Lettuce, Cucumber, Radish, Carrots, Fennel, Tomatoes, Cucumbers, and a Green Goddess Dressing:

I enjoyed this one a lot! It happened to come with a lot of dressing – you might ask for it on the side if you want to modulate the amount. Note that it is a starter salad, not an entree salad, so I’d only get it alone if you have a very light appetite. Last time, my sister and I shared one salad and one burger and it was a good amount of food.

And now we have a dedicated vegan desert on this menu, the Plant-based Brownie à la Mode! All of the emails that we send politely requesting more vegan desserts seem to be working!

Since it is labeled with the plant-based menu icon, that means that the entire dish is vegan, containing no meat, dairy, eggs, or honey.

Plant-based Brownie à la Mode: Warm Chocolate Brownie topped with Vanilla Ice Cream, Chocolate Sauce and a Luxardo Maraschino Cherry.

I had it for the first time the other day and it was glorious!!

The brownie was nice and moist, and with the chocolate drizzle and ice cream and black cherry, oh my goodness, so good! I asked the server what brand of ice cream it was, and she said it was Florentino (?) and I asked what the base was, and she said fava bean. I am not familiar with this ice cream, so I can’t tell you more about that, but if you have any allergies to nuts etc., make sure that you’re always informing the cast members of that.

Another photo of the Brownie from @thehappiestmagic. Thank you Kriss!

For breakfast, they already had oatmeal that was easy to make vegan, but now they are labeling it explicitly plant-based! So it won’t need any modifications or discussion with the server, which is always a win for me!⁣

Plant-based Overnight Oats with Seasonal Fruit and Banana⁣. Note that, as the name “overnight oats” suggests, these are served cold.

The dish is labeled Plant-based, which they define as containing no animal-based meat, dairy, eggs, or honey.

Below are photos from Jenelle (@the_year_of_disney / @vegandisneyvillain). Thank you so much for the photos, Jenelle!!

Another photo of this below from @thehappiestmagic. Thank you Kriss!

You can see how the fruit may vary from season to season.

They can also make some breakfast potatoes for you upon request, as seen below:

They still have Mickey Waffles on the menu, and while the allergy (vegan + gluten free) version of the Mickey Waffles is not usually listed on the menu, they are available upon request.

They can also sometimes make vegan pancakes, as seen above, I believe from the same batter as the waffles.

They also have soy or almond milk to put into the coffee drinks.

Oga’s Cantina

Oga’s Cantina is a bar in Star Wars: Galaxy’s Edge. It is very popular and reservations are highly coveted! You may get in as a walk up if you get lucky though!

They have a variety of alcoholic and non-alcoholic drinks. A few have dairy or honey, which is listed on the menu, but otherwise most of them are vegan. You may look up any of the beers or wines on Barnivore if you wish.

None of the food items are vegan. Oga’s Obsession includes a jello with gelatin, the Batuu bits contain crackers with egg, and the Happabore Sampler is a charcuterie board.

Plaza Inn Character Breakfast

At Plaza Inn, the breakfast is buffet/family style/table service, while the lunch and dinner are counter service. Please see below in this blog post in the quick service section for information about the lunch and dinner.

As with any table service restaurants in the park, especially character meals, make sure to make a reservation (on the Disneyland website or app).

The character breakfast is with Minnie & Friends, so you will have an opportunity to meet and take a photo with Minnie, and a rotation of other characters.

The menu lists very general things that you would find on the buffet, like Mickey Waffles, variety of fruit, etc. The usual Mickey Waffles aren’t vegan, but they have a vegan (allergy friendly) batter available upon request.

When you arrive, tell your server that you are vegan, and you may have a chef come talk to you to tell you about their vegan offerings.

The chefs are usually prepared to make you vegan Mickey Waffles, breakfast potatoes, and tofu scramble upon request!

There have been reports recently that the vegan, allergy friendly, gluten free Mickey Waffles may be made with a different recipe now than before, but I haven’t had them, so I can’t give you meany details. I have been told that they are less like rice flour and more cake-like than before. I’ll review them again when I can!

Below is a photo from August 2023 by @loveanimalseatplants. Thank you Pahl!!

Below are pictures shared with me by @brynny_md from her visit to Plaza Inn in February 2022. Thank you so much Brynn for the photos!!

River Belle Terrace

During the brunch hours, the following items are listed under the plant-based section of the menu:

  • Oatmeal Brûlée: Fresh Fruit, Berries, Maple Syrup and Cinnamon Brown Sugar
  • Grain Bowl: Sautéed Garden Vegetables, Heritage Grains Succotash, Tofu and Herbed Vinaigrette
  • Blueberry Cobbler: Topped with Oat Streusel and Vanilla Ice Cream

I haven’t had the chance to try these yet, but please send me photos if you get them!

For the dinner hours, the Grain Bowl and Blueberry Cobbler is also listed, along with the additional entree:

  • Deviled Meatballs & Grits: Mustard BBQ Sauce, Peppers & Onions

Below are some photos from Kayleigh @leathercouch73. Thank you for sending these, Kayleigh!

They also have a vegan kid’s meal option – the Impossible Meatballs:

Quick Service:

Alien Pizza Planet

They have a vegan entree here (plant-based sesame-ginger noodles shown below), and they’ve also added a vegan brownie to the menu!

Sesame-Ginger Vegetable Noodles: Stir-fried Vegetables served over Noodles, tossed with Sesame-Ginger Sauce and garnished with Cilantro & Scallions

I thought it was quite good! Not my top tier, but tasty enough, especially if it’s a convenient location based on how your park day is going, or if the rest of your party wants to eat here. I wouldn’t go out of my way for it, but I’d happily eat it again. The ginger taste wasn’t too strong, quite subtle. I wouldn’t say there was any spiciness at all. I liked the amount of veggies and herbs, so colorful and felt well balanced.

For a while, they had a Brownie topped with Chocolate Ganache that was marked plant-based and is under the plant-based section of the menu.

It was there for a few months, and perhaps was only seasonal. I have heard that they are trying to bring it back, so it may or may not be there on any given day that you are reading this in early 2025. Look on the Alien Pizza Planet menu on the app or website, and/or ask the cast members, and it may be there, but don’t go out of your way for it at the moment!

I’ll keep the photo here as placeholder for now, and hopefully it becomes available again soon!

Upon request, there is also a secret menu personal sized vegan pizza here. They are made to be allergy friendly, so they on a gluten-free crust and made with vegan cheese. I will warn you that they are not the most satisfying thing for most people compared to other options that are available nowadays. Years ago, it was quite impressive that they offered vegan cheese at all, but now they seem a bit old fashioned when we have so many other options.

Their garlic breadsticks are vegan! The dough is vegan, and they have a certain shininess to them, that is an oil based spray instead of butter.

Bengal Barbecue

The newest addition to the menu at Bengal Barbecue is the:

Impossible Lettuce Wraps: Impossible Meat, Shiitake Mushrooms, Green Onions and Water Chestnuts with Sweet Chile-Soy Sauce

These are under the plant-based section of the menu, so they are vegan as is.

This new item is in addition to the Hummus Trio, which has been at Bengal Barbecue for some time. Now, there are both of these items under the plant-based section of the menu.

I thought these new Impossible Lettuce Wraps were great! A bit messy to eat, as you would expect with lettuce wraps, so have a fork and napkins nearby.

The impossible meat had a standard barbecue type flavor to it, and the mushrooms added a nice variety of flavor and texture. The chile-soy sauce was super tasty, just a bit spicy and citrusy. It was kind of a thicker sauce than I was expecting, so I wasn’t sure if I was supposed to pour it over the top or dip in it, but it was messy either way.

I’m so glad to have another option at Bengal Barbecue now! I’d definitely recommend giving this one a try if you want something with a good amount of protein that is also not too heavy! We went on Hyperspace Mountain right after this and it was an acceptable meal to eat right before that, easy on the stomach.

And below is a photo of the Hummus Trio.

Hummus Trio: trio of House-made Seasonal Hummus served with fresh Vegetables

The hummuses seemed to be cilantro, red pepper, and black bean flavored. The broccoli was ever so slightly steamed, which was actually really great. Still very firm and al dente, but with improved digestibility and taste, in my opinion. The rest of the vegetables were great, very fresh.

They also have the Outback Vegetable Skewer: skewered fresh Vegetables. Note that it is made on a shared grill (like most of the food at Disneyland/DCA).

I also asked the cast members there again in April 2025 about the Outback Vegetable Skewer (skewered fresh Vegetables), since people have asked me if there is any kind of new dairy-based sauce involved in those. The cast member told me that there is a canola oil based sauce that is used for those, and there is no dairy. The thing about the veggie skewers is that they are cooked on the same grill as everything else, which you may or may not be comfortable with.

You can get the skewer individually like that, or as part of the Bengal Rice Plate: choice of two regular Skewers served on a bed of Jasmine Rice with a side of Citrus-Miso Slaw. Choose the Vegetable Skewer as opposed any of the meat ones. Last I checked, the Citrus-Miso Slaw was vegan and good to go!

They also have pineapple spears, pickles, various other fruits and snacks.

The Jungle Julep (below) is a seasonal drink that is sometimes available. It is super tasty!

Café Daisy

The main vegan option here is the Spring Garden Wrap, as shown on the menu board below:

It is marked with the plant-based menu icon, defined on the menu as “contains no animal meat, dairy, eggs, or honey,” i.e. vegan as is:

Spring Garden Wrap: Romaine and Quinoa Wrap with Creamy Lemon Dressing and Toasted Pumpkin Seeds, with House-made Chips

This is one of my absolute favorite meals in the park!

With the quinoa, edamame, and pumpkin seeds, it’s a good amount of protein, and it’s a generous portion size. The dressing was super tasty, and there was a lot of it. Overall, very satisfying! And the house-made chips are excellent as well.

The only thing I would say is that the wrap is served cold/room temperature, which is of course to be expected with all that fresh romaine in there, but some people don’t like cold wraps, so just a heads up if you don’t like that. Personally, I think it is delicious and it is something that I get over and over again!

Daisy’s Goody-Goody Donuts have changed their flavor seasonally a few times. They were first accidentally vegan, and then changed to a non-vegan version, and they have switched back and forth several times. The latest info I have is that they are not vegan at the moment. If you’re at Daisy’s anyway, it might be worth asking on any given day, but I wouldn’t suggest going out of your way for them. Suppliers change often, and if it’s not labelled “plant-based,” then you can’t be sure.

Docking Bay 7 Food and Cargo

There is a great fully vegan meal here: the Felucian Kefta & Hummus Garden Spread. Normally, it consists of:

Felucian Kefta & Hummus Garden Spread: Impossible Meatballs, Herb Hummus, Tomato-Cucumber Relish, and Pita.

During the Fall/Winter months, they change this to a seasonal version that I love so much!

Felucian Kefta Garden Spread: Impossible Meatballs, Roasted Butternut Squash Purée, Tzatziki, Toasted Sage, Pita Chips

The structure of the dish is the same, but several components are swapped out, so it’s quite a different experience!

The Impossible meatballs are the same (impossible meat with quinoa and various spices, but instead of hummus, tomato/cucumber, and soft pita bread, you get butternut squash puree, tzatziki, sage, and crispy pita chips.

It still has the plant-based menu icon, meaning made without meat, dairy, eggs, or honey, so it is a plant-based tzatziki sauce.

I love how cozy and autumnal this version is! The toasted sage leaves really take it up a few notches.

The butternut squash puree is at the bottom, underneath the pita chips, and then you get more cubes of roasted butternut squash on top.

I like this almost more than the regular version! It’s nice that they switch it up for the fall/winter!

You may recognize the regular (hummus version) of this dish from Walt Disney World; it happens to be one of the very few things that is the same as over there. It’s one of my absolute favorite meals in the parks. It’s delicious, filling, balanced, and an all-around crowd pleaser. If you have a non-vegan with you and would like to impress them, I would suggest this one, and/or the Ronto-less Garden Wrap from Ronto Roasters just around the corner from Docking Bay 7.

There is also a vegan kid’s meal: Ithorian Garden Patty Bun Kid’s Meal: Bao Bun, Impossible™ Patty, Roasted Carrot, House Sauce and a Cuties® Mandarin served with choice of Small Lowfat Milk or Small DASANI® Water.

It has the plant-based menu icon, meaning that it doesn’t need any modifications (just don’t choose the milk beverage, of course).

Edelweiss Snacks

This a snack cart with nothing notable except for beverages (soft drinks, slushies, coffee). The hot chocolate mix contains milk. I’ve asked many times over the years about the corn on the cob, and I’ve always been told that they all come pre-buttered and can’t be served without.

Tiana’s Palace

This was formerly French Market, and has now transformed into Tiana’s Palace with a new menu!

I loved following along as the Disneyland chefs shared their research for these dishes and their trips to New Orleans. The new version of the gumbo feels so much more elevated and up to date!

The 7 Greens Gumbo is marked with the plant-based menu icon, defined on the menu as “made without animal meat, dairy, eggs, or honey.” It consists of greens (I think mostly collard greens), and has White Beans, Okra, Yams, Sweet Potatoes and Heirloom Rice.

I was such a fan of this! Comfort food that is also nutrient dense is exactly what I need to fuel a long day in the park. Will definitely be getting again!

Since I haven’t been to Louisiana, I can’t say exactly how authentic it is, but I did live in Tennessee for 5 years, so I developed a love for southern food, and this hits the spot so well

I will say that the portion size is not huge, perhaps smaller than what you might expect as far as usual restaurant portion sizes go. It was just right for me, as a person who doesn’t usually finish a full dish at Disneyland, or I usually share with someone. But I was quite hungry and finished every last bite of this.

As far as spiciness: it has a mellow kick to it. Definitely some spiciness going on, but nothing too intense. I’d say 3/10 on the spiciness scale.

This does mean that the old gumbo recipe that was served at Royal Street Veranda for many years is now in Yesterland. I know that people were very attached to that one, but don’t get too sad before you’ve tried the new one. I’m sure that there will be varying opinions on which is better, but personally, I much prefer this new version.

Galactic Grill

For breakfast, they have the following fully vegan item:

Soy Chorizo Country Breakfast Burrito: Soy Chorizo, Spiced Potatoes, Grilled Peppers, Onions, Egg, Cheddar, Pico de Gallo and Chipotle Sauce in a Spinach Flour Tortilla

Do not be alarmed when you see “egg,” and “cheddar” in that menu description. The entire menu item has the plant-based menu icon next to it, meaning that it is plant-based versions of each of the components mentioned there: Just Egg, and vegan cheddar (usually Follow Your Heart or Daiya).

I tried this for myself the other day and it was very satisfying! Lots of great flavors and textures. A lovely soy chorizo that is not too spicy at all, much less spicy than average for a chorizo. The portion size is very nice – definitely large, but not overwhelming.

For lunch/dinner hours, Galactic Grill has the:

Black Bean Veggie Wrap: Black Bean and Fire-roasted Corn Medley, Mixed Greens, [plant-based] Cheese and Sun-dried Tomato Spread served with choice of Cuties® Mandarin Orange or French Fries

It is marked fully plant-based, meaning that it is vegan without modification, even a vegan cheese. They usually use Follow Your Heart or Chao in Disneyland/DCA.

I’d say it’s pretty okay. It’s served cold, which may or may not be to your liking. All of the ingredients seemed pretty well executed – I felt like mine had a lot of that tomato spread, so maybe a bit too wet, but I suppose that is better than too dry. Overall, it’s fine, and it’s something that I would be thrilled and grateful to see at a convenience store or a grab-n-go section of a grocery store, but compared to all of the other vegan dishes at Disneyland, it’s probably not going to be many people’s favorite. If you are looking for something that is more vegetable-focused and doesn’t have any plant-based meats, this is one of those options, though I would say that even in that category, there are others that are better than this.

This has gotten mixed reviews from people who have messaged me saying they’ve tried it – some people say it’s great, that they would totally get it again, and others were not so into it. Of course, there is no dish that is going to please absolutely everyone because we all have different tastebuds.

They also have sides of fries, dill pickles, the strawberry fruit bar, and various beverages.

Gibson Girl

Gibson Girl on Main Street USA has added a plant-based vanilla ice cream! I am not seeing it on the physical menu boards yet, but if you look on the Disneyland app menu, you will see “plant-based vanilla ice cream.”

The brand that they typically use is called Florentino, and it’s a wholesaler brand (the same as at Clarabelle’s in DCA). The base for their plant-based flavors is faba beans (aka fava beans), but if you have any allergies, make sure to always check with cast members on the ingredients lists, because suppliers and ingredients can change from day to day.

Their vanilla flavor is so creamy and silky!! It has a strong vanilla bean taste, like something that would be labelled “vanilla bean” instead of just “vanilla.”

As far as toppings, I asked about the various ones, and you’ll want to go with either the strawberry puree (I was shown the ingredients list, it’s vegan), or the peanuts.

I asked about the hot fudge and chocolate chips; those contain dairy. I didn’t ask about the sprinkles, but typically the only questionable thing there would be confectioner’s glaze (sometimes made from shellac), but that is a bit of an obscure gray area that you should decide for yourself if you’re comfortable with. I asked about the cones and was told that they have egg (waffle cones typically do). They also have another type of cone (the packaged type of regular cone), but I didn’t have time to ask about it. Just go with your scoop in a cup if you’d like to be safe 🙂

Below you can see my scoop with the strawberry puree on top. It’s so amazing to be able to go to Gibson Girl and participate in the Main Street ice cream experience again!! It had been 8 years since I had been able to get a scoop of ice cream on Main Street at Gibson Girl, since before I was vegan, and it feels like a big deal to be able to do it again!

Golden Horseshoe

A few years ago, there was a vegan option here (Impossible Chili Cheese Fries), but they were seasonal and are no longer available, to my knowledge. Hopefully something else comes in soon!

Harbour Galley

Harbour Galley changes its menu often. Currently, it has the following with the plant-based menu icon:

Corn Soup: Roasted Corn Soup topped with Pasilla & Roasted Corn served in a Sourdough Bread Bowl

This one exceeded my expectations! I found it really flavorful and satisfying. I loved the texture, it was mostly creamy, but with a good amount of roasted corn and other veggie toppings that it wasn’t completely homogenous. It seemed well spiced to me. And of course, nothing beats the sourdough bread bowl! Amazing every time!

Sometimes people say that they end up with lukewarm soup from Harbour Galley, which can definitely happen sometimes, but mine will still piping hot even after taking it over to the Hungry Bear seating area and taking time for photos/videos (pro tip – if the Harbour Galley seating areas are full, take the short walk over to Hungry Bear, which has much more seating!)

They served it with the rest of the bread bowl on top of the soup as a covering, I think that helped keep it hot for longer.

Hungry Bear

Hungry Bear was renovated while Tiana’s Bayou Adventure was being built, and it has new reopened with a completely new menu! It also changed its name slightly, from Hungry Bear Restaurant to Hungry Bear Barbecue Jamboree.

The new menu is not burger-focused anymore; it’s BBQ fare.

The dish with the plant-based menu icon (meaning all vegan, including vegan cheese, sauces, etc.) is the:

Corn Ribs Plate: Chile-Lime Aïoli, [plant-based] Parmesan, Crispy Onions, Cilantro and Scallions, with Coleslaw and Beer-battered Fries

I asked the cast members just to make extra sure that we’re dealing with vegan parmesan and aioli here, and they assured me that it is all vegan (Follow Your Heart).

This dish is so bursting with flavor! The toppings on the corn ribs are really quite decadent and satisfying. Mine was grilled to perfection, just the right amount of crispy.

This was actually the first time I’ve had corn ribs, so I was very curious about how they’re cut. They are sliced so that the hard part of the cob is still in the center, so you hold it with two hands like a rib, and then bite off the corn, and you’re left with the “bone” part.

The fries are fantastic as well, they remind me of the Lamplight Lounge fries, but they’re way more convenient to get here, since Hungry Bear is a quick service place that’s much easier to get into than Lamplight Lounge!

The coleslaw is fine – it’s vinegar based, not mayo based, so it’s tangy and a bit sweet. It does its job as coleslaw, but I wouldn’t have much raving to do about it.

One thing to note is that this is not a huge portion of food, and it’s not much protein. So if you are a very very hungry bear, this might be on the small side for you. It was a good size for me, but my strategy with many other dishes in Disneyland is actually to share them with someone, so you get the idea.

If you want to save room for lots of other snacks, or if you’re not particularly starving, then this is probably enough, but if you compare it to a burger, it’s quite a small amount of food.

Jolly Holiday Bakery Cafe

Marked plant-based here is the Cranberry Pecan Salad: Mixed Greens, Spiced Pecans, (vegan) Feta, Tomatoes, Dried Cranberries and Strawberry Vinaigrette. Served with a breadstick.

It has the plant-based menu icon, meaning “contains no animal meat, dairy, eggs, or honey,” i.e. vegan with no modifications necessary. I doubled checked that the feta was vegan; they said yes, very much so (I think it was probably Follow Your Heart), and the dressing and breadstick are also vegan. A while back the breadsticks at Jolly Holiday had cheese on them, but the cast member said that they have now changed them to be vegan.

Here is how it looks:

This is a huge improvement over that grain and veggie salad that they had here a few years ago in my opinion. The strawberry vinaigrette dressing was great and really complemented all of the flavors in the salad, and the mix of sweet from the cranberries and candied pecans and salty with the vegan feta was very satisfying in my opinion.

This is a great lighter option if you’re not looking for something hefty like a burger. Flavorful, but not a giant portion size. So nice that the breadstick is vegan now though, so it is more filling than the old salad here.

At Jolly Holiday, they can make all of their espresso drinks (cappuccinos, lattes etc.) with soy milk on request.

Kat Saka’s Kettle

Kat Saka’s Kettle is the popcorn vendor in Star Wars: Galaxy’s Edge. They have had various types of popcorn mixes, and the Outpost Mix refers to different flavors as they cycle through them. Coconut oil is used in the popping process, and then the glazes are added.

The glazes have always been vegan, every time they have introduced a new flavor. The Outpost Mix changes seasonally, so it will mean different things depending on when you go.

They rotate out the flavors quite often, but as of May 2024, they have the following:

Kublag Spiced Savory Popped Grains
Mild Spicy Cajun Seasoning with a hint of Sweet Lemon

This looks like it should be vegan to me, but I haven’t asked in person yet, so I’m not sure.

They also have this interesting recent addition to the menu:

Kinyenian Topato Pie
Curry-spiced Potatoes, Mixed Vegetables, Mint Chutney

This looks like it might be the same as the Vegetable Sambusas that were at the Troubadour Taverne (next to the Fantasyland Theater/Tale of the Lion King) previously. Those were accidentally vegan, not labeled as such, but the cast members would tell you that they were vegan. I’ll go and ask in person when I can to see.

Market House (Starbucks)

Here you can get basically all of the same vegan options you would expect at a regular Starbucks! Quite an extensive list, so I won’t go over them all here, but most drinks can be veganized by choosing soy, almond, oat, or coconut milk.

On occasion, you can find a vegan breakfast/snack type item in the refrigerated cases that lead up to the register. For example, Jenelle and I found a Coconut Berry Parfait in April/May 2025. I have also seen various types of overnight oats in this case that are vegan (they always have the ingredients lists). These items tend to rotate out often, though, so don’t always count on finding something.

Maurice’s Treats

Nothing too notable here, just beverages, such as the Boysen Apple Freeze.

Milk Stand

Blue Milk: Plant-based blend of Coconut and Rice Milk with alluring fruity characteristics

Green Milk: Plant-based blend of Coconut and Rice Milk with zippy citrus and tropical characteristics

If you want to mix them, then order one of each and ask for an extra cup in which to mix them.

They also brought back the Toydaria Swirl on May the 4th! It is vegan except for the Mango Jelly, which contains dairy. So omit the Mango Jelly – it doesn’t change the drink significantly; it’s just a small layer that would have been on the bottom. It has chamoy and tajin, so get ready for a spicy/salty kick added to the green milk.

Mint Julep Bar

Various beverages, including the virgin New Orleans Mint Julep of course!

They have seasonal versions of the Mint Julep on rotation, for example the Strawberry Mint Julep: a refreshing blend of Strawberry, Mint and hint of Lime flavor

They also offer coffee, fountain drinks, and Cuties Mandarin Oranges that you can get as a snack.

Plaza Inn

For lunch and dinner, it is counter service (quick service), while it is character dining (buffet/family style/table service) for breakfast. For information about the breakfast, please see the table service section at the beginning of this blog post.

This menu is quite old-fashioned and hasn’t been updated to 21st century standards of vegan food. Basically what they offer is a Penne Pasta with Marinara, hold the cheese. I would only suggest going here if the rest of your party wants to go here, but otherwise there are many locations in Disneyland with much much better vegan options.

There is also a version of this on the Kid’s menu, the Kid’s Penne Pasta with Marinara with Applesauce and Carrots.

They have a variety of fountain drinks, coffee, iced tea, etc.

Rancho del Zocalo

Rancho del Zocalo currently has these tacos:

Soy Chorizo con Papa Tacos
with Salsa Fresca, topped with Onions and Cilantro

Since they have the plant-based menu icon (defined as “made without animal meat, dairy, eggs, or honey”), they are vegan without modifications.

Thank you @meatlessmolly for the photo below of the new tacos!

The Cinnamon Crisps that were here for a few years appear to not be available anymore. Hopefully they will come back one day!

You should still be able to veganize the kid’s bean/cheese burrito by subbing rice instead of cheese. The plate comes with rice, raw veggies (for example, carrots and celery), an applesauce, and a drink.

Another great thing about Rancho del Zocalo is that they have a filtered water station in the seating area, so it’s a great place to fill up your water bottle!⁣

By the way, I have asked about their Horchata many times; they have always told me that it contains cow’s milk in addition to rice milk.

Red Rose Taverne

At Red Rose Taverne, the option during breakfast and lunch hours is the following:

Little Town Harvest Breakfast Bowl: Quinoa, Roasted Mushrooms and Cauliflower, Arugula, Tomato, Potato Bites and Spicy Lime Aioli.

During dinner hours, they recently introduced the following with the plant-based menu icon:

Veggie Fantasyland Faire Fold: Flour Tortilla filled with Quinoa, Roasted Mushrooms, Cauliflower, Arugula, Tomatoes, Hash Browns, [plant-based] Mozzarella and Spicy Lime Aïoli

You may notice that it has some overlapping components with the Little Town Harvest Bowl served during breakfast and lunch hours, but it is even better in my opinion. I do love the Bowl, but this version with the tortilla and the melted vegan cheese on the inside is just so good! It’s so flavorful and satisfying, it really hits the spot. I’d actually rank it up there with the Rontoless Garden Wrap! Even though it’s very different ingredients, it is satisfying on that level for me.

It’s quite a hefty dish, so you might find that sharing it is the way to go. I’ve had it twice now and I can only get through half of it, even when I’m really quite hungry.

Ronto Roasters

Perhaps the most beloved food at Disneyland, apart from the Dole Whip of course, is the Ronto-less Garden Wrap at Ronto Roasters.

Ronto-less Garden Wrap: Plant-based Sausage, spicy Kimchi Slaw, sweet Pickled Cucumber, Plant-based Gochujang Spread, wrapped in Pita

Below is a photo of 4 of these beauties:

Here is one of the more recent ones I have had. I have them almost every time I’m in the park!

Also, the specialty beverages like the Tatooine Sunset and the Meiloorun Juice are delicious.

Royal Street Veranda

Royal Street Veranda rotates its options quite often, it’s very seasonal.

As of September 2025, they have this salad, which has the plant-based menu icon:

Meatball Slider: Impossible Meatballs, Marinara Sauce and Parmesan (plant-based)

Since it is under the plant-based section of the menu and has the plant-based menu icon, defined as “made without animal meat, dairy, eggs, or honey,” it is vegan without modifications and comes with plant-based cheese.

This is a seasonal item and will be available 9/3/25 – 1/7/26.

I really liked this one! The Impossible meatball is very flavorful, had lots of spices and some veggies in there (hard to tell exactly all the veggies, but I think at least carrots and green onions). The marinara and parmesan made it nice comfort food that will be even better as we get into the colder months! And the bun was very good as well.

It’s a snack sized portion, sort of what you might expect at Food and Wine, so plan your appetite accordingly. Overall I can definitely recommend it!

Tiki Juice Bar

The Tiki Juice bar is the OG place to get your Dole Whips, before the Tropical Hideaway opened, and it has your basic Dole Whip needs covered: classic pineapple Dole Whip, either in a cup or in pineapple juice as a float. You can also get the pineapple juice alone, or a pineapple spear.

All flavors of Dole Whip are vegan. You can read the ingredients of each flavor on their website. Note that vanilla does not exist; the possible flavors that Dole sells are orange, strawberry, raspberry, mango, pineapple, lemon, lime, cherry, and watermelon. If you see vanilla or some other flavor, for example at Walt Disney World, that is a soft-serve from another brand and probably contains dairy.

Tropical Hideaway

You can get Dole Whips, either just the whip or the float (with pineapple juice). There are typically 3-4 flavors, and they rotate, sometimes changing daily. As of this writing, there are pineapple, mango, strawberry, and peach. You can get any of those flavors on its own, or as a swirl of 2 of them.

  • DOLE Whip® Pineapple Soft Serve
  • DOLE Whip® Float: DOLE® Pineapple Juice topped with DOLE Whip® Pineapple Soft Serve
  • DOLE Whip® Swirl: swirl any two flavors
  • DOLE® Pineapple Juice

The Peach is the newest one, and it appears to be a seasonal/limited time flavor that is made by the Dole brand, but not listed on the Dole website. We asked the cast members at the Tropical Hideaway, and they confirmed that it is in fact dairy-free, like all of the regular Dole whip flavors!

I loved this flavor so much! It tastes like those peach gummy rings that you get at the bulk candy stores in the mall. Very sweet and fun! It’s in my top flavors for sure!

There is also a Peach Sundae on the Tropical Hideaway menu, but it’s just with non-vegan toppings added, so just get the regular peach Dole Whip on its own.

Definitely prioritize the Tropical Hideaway on your next park visit if you’d like to try the peach, it might not be here for very long!

On the menu now, you may also notice the Pineapple Upside Down Cake whip. It looks like it wouldn’t be worth trying to veganize to me, it’s just the peach Dole Whip with non-vegan toppings. I’m sure when that one has finished its run, it will go back to one or more of the vegan Speciality Whips.

Up until recently, there was the Chile-Mango Whip, but it has been swapped out for some other seasonal items. It is likely it will return, so I’ll keep the description and photo up for now, but as of September 2025, it’s not on the menu.

Chile-Mango Whip with Pineapple and Mango Swirl DOLE Whip®, Chamoy, Mango, Chile-Lime seasoning

At the Tropical Hideaway, you can make any combination of the Dole Whip flavors currently available as a swirl of two flavors in a cup or as a float in pineapple juice. See below for a few examples.

Below is a Dole float with pineapple and raspberry swirl:

Here is a float with just pineapple:

Here is a lemon/raspberry swirl:

Below is a float of mango (bottom) and raspberry (top) Dole Whip in pineapple juice:

The Dole Whip below has tajín on it! Packs of tajín are available upon request if you like to spice up your Dole Whip.

Troubadour Tavern:

This is the snack stand in front of the Fantasyland Theater, where the Tale of the Lion King played until recently (now it is a Pixar Fest dance party area). It is the same theater where Mickey and the Magical Map used to play before Lion King.

There used to be an accidentally vegan Potato Sambusa here, but now the menu has changed with the new Pixar theming, and there doesn’t appear to be anything remotely veganizable on the current menu.

The Potato Sambusas look like they may have made a reappearance at Kat Saka’s Kettle, though. I haven’t asked in person, but they look like they might be the same as the previous Potato Sambusas from Troubadour Tavern.

This was really tasty! The filling was super flavorful, with lots of aromatic spices. The pastry was very nice and crispy. Dipping it in the mango chutney was very satisfying – the sweetness with the savory spices in the filling was a very fun and interesting flavor combo. I’d definitely get this one again! It’s actually quite a nice portion size. If you share it with someone, and you each have one of them, it’s perhaps a snack size, but if you have both for yourself, it’s pretty much a meal in my opinion.

Vending Carts:

At the various vending carts throughout Disney, you can get popcorn (the fresh popcorn from the carts is vegan; it is made with canola/coconut oil, and not butter).

Here are the current popcorn cart locations:

  • At Town Square (near City Hall)
  • At the hub (in front of the castle)
  • Near Fantasyland Theater (Back of Fantasyland, between Storybook Land Canal Boats and the Matterhorn)
  • In Toon Town (near Gadget’s Go Coaster)
  • In New Orleans Square (near Haunted Mansion)
  • Near Small World
  • In Frontierland (near the Mark Twain dock)
  • In Tomorrowland (near the Star Trader)

At the ice cream carts throughout Disneyland and DCA, you will find a few options: the Olaf Frozen Lemon Strawberry Bar, the Outshine Fruit Bar, and the Chocolate Covered Frozen Banana!

The newest and most exciting one is the Chocolate dipped frozen banana with peanuts! Many years ago, when I was a kid, they had these frozen bananas, but I think they weren’t vegan back then. Then they disappeared for many years, and now they have finally reappeared, with a new vendor, and the chocolate is dairy-free!! I tried one of these for the first time since my childhood and it did not disappoint! Highly recommend, especially since vegan sweet treats are few and far between in Disneyland/DCA, and this one is great for when you have a sweet tooth but want something other than Dole Whip!

Mickey Pretzels are vegan as long as you hold the cheese, which is an add-on anyway. Find your Mickey Pretzels at the following locations in Disneyland:

  • In Frontierland (near Big Thunder)
  • Near Small World
  • In Tomorrowland (near Star Tours)
  • On Main Street (at Refreshment Corner)

The larger snack stands where you will find the bigger assortments (pickles, fresh fruit like apples, bananas, oranges, grapes, pineapple, mango, lots of beverages, some vegan varieties of chips [check ingredients lists], etc.) are:

  • On Main Street USA, on Center Street (next to Starbucks)
  • In Adventureland across from the Jungle Cruise
  • In Frontierland (near the Mark Twain dock)
  • In Fantasyland (near Dumbo)
  • In Tomorrowland (near the Star Trader)

At various carts throughout the park, you will also find cotton candy and and some accidentally vegan packaged candy (for example, Red Vines).

By the way, I am often asked if the churros at Disneyland/DCA are vegan, since many churros out there in the world are accidentally vegan. Unfortunately the churros at Disneyland/DCA are not vegan; they contain both milk and egg. Hopefully one day, they will change vendors and this will not be the case anymore – please write a polite email requesting this if you have a moment! But until then, here is the current ingredients list for your reference:

Retail Locations:

Main Street Candy Palace

Here you will find packaged snacks that are also available at various other retail locations throughout Disneyland/DCA/Downtown Disney (Main Street Candy Palace, Pooh’s Corner, Trolley Treats, Bing Bong’s, Wonderful World of Sweets, etc.).

The packaged kettle corn has always been vegan, and recently (as of June 2025), the recipe has changed on the packaged caramel corn so that it is now dairy-free and vegan as well! Very exciting!!

The Snacks with Character have gotten a revamp and are much more vegan-friendly now!

Some of these are probably repackaged Enjoy Life products, and others from other allergen-focused brands.

The latest lineup of the Snacks with Character now has the following vegan items (labeled vegan on the packaging!):

  • Marshmallow Rice Treat
  • Sea Salt Dark Chocolate Squares
  • Churro Flavored Puffs
  • Cheddar Flavored Puffs (yes, vegan!)
  • BBQ Flavored Puffs

The new Marshmallow Rice Treat was better than I was expecting! It looks like it might be a bit dry just visually, but when you bite into it, it has this really rich and quite sweet vanilla flavor, and doesn’t come across as dry to me at all. It has really a nice chewy and crispy texture, especially for being something formulated to sit on a shelf. I was so pleasantly surprised, I’d definitely get it again! And of course, everything tastes better when it’s Mickey-shaped!

On Fridays and sometimes Saturdays, Main Street Candy Palace has the plain candied apples, the ones with just the red candy glaze and nothing else, and those are vegan.

You will also find these lollipops and other various candies that are at several locations around Disneyland, DCA, and Downtown Disney:

Some of the Chip & Dales snacks are vegan, but some contain dairy. Below, I have photos of each of the ones that are vegan, but make sure to always double check the ingredients lists before purchasing, since they can sometimes change.

There are also a variety of packaged candies, and while some of them have gelatin, beeswax, or other animal products, there are a few that are accidentally vegan, or vegan as far as is discernible. There are no obvious animal products in them. I discuss obscure ingredients like dyes, etc., in my FAQ here on my website, but please make your own decision about them.

The Dark Chocolate Almonds recently got new packaging and became dairy-free again. They were originally vegan a few years back, and then at some point they started having milk in the ingredients list, but now with the new packaging, it appears that they have reverted back to the older, dairy-free recipe.

But now they contain shellac, which I didn’t see in the older recipe. The older ones were cocoa-dusted, so they didn’t have the shiny outside, so I guess that’s what makes these different and have the shellac included now. As far as I can tell, shellac is made from beetles, so unfortunately, while these are dairy-free again, they now contain beetles.

Shellac is a bit hard to get information on, so in general I’d err on the side of caution and say these aren’t vegan. But please let me know if you have any info on the way shellac is typically made nowadays.

These are part of a group of other packaged chocolate covered things (e.g. pretzels), but the almonds are the only ones that are dairy-free. All of the others, even the dark chocolate covered pretzels, contain dairy.

Pooh’s Corner

Pooh’s Corner is a shop near the Winnie the Pooh attraction in Critter Country. It typically stocks similar items as the Main Street Candy Palace as described above.

Fantasmic Dining Packages

Hungry Bear On-The-Go Fantasmic Dining Package

First, some tips on how Fantasmic works in 2022: There is no virtual queue or fastpass-like system for Fantasmic now (unlike World of Color, which uses a virtual queue). Instead, Fantasmic has regular standby walk-up areas, and dining package areas. On the first day of the show (May 28, 2022), we just did the normal standby walk-up area by going up to the viewing area at about 7:10pm (for the 9pm show) and asking cast members where we should be. We got a pretty good spot! My friend Fargo sat in the spot while I went to get us some hot chocolate and snacks. It was surreal and I’m so grateful that we have our Fantasmic back!!

So the dining packages described below are totally optional. They give you the best view (the center section), but you can also just go to one of the standby sections nice and early and get a view that is slightly on the side, but still a perfectly good view.

The dining packages are with either Hungry Bear, River Belle Terrace, or Blue Bayou. Blue Bayou is still closed for refurbishment for a while, so it isn’t actually an option at the moment, but will be when it reopens.

For River Belle Terrace and Hungry Bear, go to the Fantasmic Dining Package page on the Disneyland website to make a table service reservation at River Belle, or schedule a pickup time for the on-the-go meal at Hungry Bear.

We tried to get a Hungry Bear package as a walk up around noon on the first day, but they had already sold out via the website. So plan as much in advance as possible if you would like to get one!!

But @the_year_of_disney and @loveisagryffindor were successful in planning theirs for Hungry Bear yesterday! So the first 2 food photos are from Jenelle and the menu photo is from Jeffrey! Thank you two so much!!

So exciting that they have a fully vegan option and kid’s option now!! The Impossible Sloppy “Bear-Wich” has a mixture of vegetables and seasonings, dairy-free cheese and shredded romaine on toasted sourdough, served with seasonal vegetables, fresh fruit and a plant-based brownie. The kid’s version looks similar, but a smaller slider version.

@loveisagryffindor said that the plant-based brownie was the highlight for him! We so seldom get legit vegan dessert options in the park, so this is quite exciting!

River Belle Terrace Table Service Fantasmic Dining Package

See the section above on Hungry Bear for a general outline of how Fantasmic viewing works in 2022.

For the River Belle Terrace dining package, go to the Fantasmic Dining Package page on the Disneyland website to make a table service reservation.

There are two choices: Standard Package and Premium Package, which have slightly different setups. You can read about them on the Fantasmic Dining Package page on the Disneyland website and decide which one sounds better to you.

The main difference between the two packages is the viewing location: a separate location for the Standard Package (right up front, next to the Rivers of America), and on the actual patio of River Belle Terrace for the Premium Package. In the before times, I did the patio viewing option once, and while it was nice, I would prefer the separate viewing location up front.

The Fantasmic menu is different from their regular menu, but you are allowed to choose from either the regular menu (see the section above about River Belle Terrace in general), or for the special Fantasmic menu. On the Fantasmic menu, they are offering a Strawberry-Pistachio Salad as a starter, and the Plant-based Chili and Cornbread as an entree. The latter was a special for Earth Day earlier this year.

Both of these are marked with the plant-based menu icon, meaning they contain no animal-based meat, dairy, eggs, or honey.

Many thanks to @sarahfmunoz for the photos of the new menu and salad!!

Strawberry Pistachio Salad:

Plant-based Chili and Cornbread Skillet. It is marked fully vegan with the plant-based menu icon, so that is vegan cheese, vegan sour cream, and plant-based sausage. It tasted like Field Roast to me, but I can’t be certain, so please check with your server/chef if you have any allergies. The cheese might be Follow Your Heart, Daiya, or Chao. They don’t say these things on the menu because sometimes they need to change it if the brand can’t supply as much as they need, so they need to be able to switch it from day to day – so make sure to ask if it makes a difference to you as far as allergies go.

Many thanks to @vcmary82 for the photos below!

And another one of the salad:

Also, they should have an off-menu sorbet to offer you for dessert! @vcmary82 was offered a passionfruit sorbet.

Blue Bayou Table Service Fantasmic Dining Package

Blue Bayou’s dining package has the menu below – you get all the same vegan options as on the regular menu. Please see the section on Blue Bayou at the top of this post for photos and my reviews of these dishes!

And because things are always subject to change, please check the Fantasmic Dining Package page on the Disneyland website for updates.

Tomorrowland Skyline Lounge Experience

This is a semi-secret balcony in Tomorrowland with a separate menu from other restaurants. You can read all of the details on Disneyland’s website, but the gist is that it is a dinner package and you can watch the fireworks from there on days that the fireworks happen. Please see the Disneyland website for pricing, to make a reservation, etc. You might also like this Disney Food Blog article that goes over the details of the experience and their assessment of whether it’s worth it. I haven’t done it myself yet, but I would like to at some point! It gets pricy for me to cover all of the dining packages (I’m just one person maintaining this project, and I make minimum wage), so I can’t do them all at once. If you would like to see more reviews of these, it is helpful if you can buy me a Dole Whip 🙂

The Tomorrowland Skyline Lounge’s menu has a clearly marked plant-based item. They recently changed it (it used to be the Supernova Pasta Bake). It is now the following:

Mushroom al Pastor Sandwich: Mushrooms al pastor, black bean puree, avocado-tomatillo sauce, pickled cucumbers, red onion and jicama with cilantro, served on a ciabatta bun with seasoned yuca fries

I haven’t been able to try it yet, so I don’t have any photos or reviews of it, but please let me know if you try it!

Plaza Inn Parade Dining Package

As with the other dining packages, this gets you a meal, but more importantly, it gives you a reserved spot to watch the parade without having to spend time getting there far in advance for a good spot.

Please see the Disneyland website for pricing, availability, and to reserve a seat/meal. Below is the short description, but see that link for all the details!

Enjoy a delicious lunch with an all-in-one meal package that includes access to a special viewing area for the “Magic Happens” Parade—celebrating magical moments from legendary, Disney stories!

This dining package includes:

  • Adult or child meal
  • A voucher for reserved viewing access to the second “Magic Happens” Parade performance

I haven’t done this myself yet, but many thanks to @erinsweldon for the review and photo below!

The menu/app says “plant-based options are available” for this package as you see above, but it doesn’t say exactly what, so it could change from day to day. But in general, this penne with marinara is the only vegan item that they offer for lunch/dinner at Plaza Inn, so it’s not really different from the normal menu. Here you can see that Erin was given the penne with marinara, breadsticks, salad with vinaigrette, and a vegan ice cream. The vegan ice cream offering is new – since they offer it at Carnation Cafe and River Belle Terrace in their desserts, it’s so nice to see it show up at Plaza inn too!

That’s going to do it for now! I’ll update this post whenever I get more info.

If these guides are helpful to you and you would like to show your appreciation, you are welcome to buy me a Dole Whip 🙂

I hope to see you in the park real soon!

If you’re looking for vegan options in other parts of the Disneyland Resort, please see my most recently updated Complete Guides for those!

  1. I’m not sure if they changed the recipe, but when I attended the cast member soft-opening Galactic Grill had the veggie wrap and when I asked if it was vegan they told me it was. They explained that the wrap now has vegan Mayo, vegan parmesan cheese, black beans, corn, lots of lettuce and tomato. 🙂

    1. Oh my goodness that is so interesting! I didn’t have time to check myself on opening day, but I’ve had some followers ask there in the last few days and they said there isn’t even the old secret menu veggie burger.. When I look at the menu on the app, that old veggie wrap isn’t on there, but perhaps it is there secretly? Anyway, I’ll be there this coming Saturday again and I’ll check it out! Thanks for the heads up!

  2. Currently at Disneyland and the personal vegan pizzas are still available at Alien Pizza Planet. Their garlic breadsticks are vegan as well as they use an oil based spray instead of butter! 🙂

  3. We just got to try a new vegan dish planned for Cafe Orleans. It was farro with mushrooms and veggies and a super delicious sauce. Hopefully they add it to the menu soon! It was so good.

  4. My expectations as a vegan have come a long way from the early days of just hoping to find something so you don’t starve at a theme park. Now I want the food to be good. We have been coming to the Blue Bayou on our last three visits. The first time, I went expecting that survival food but it turned out amazing! The Portobello dish they had was actively delicious. And I left thinking I will come here every time I visit. The second time I went, they had axed that menu item in favor of some off-menu spaghetti marinara option. I was so angry at the concept of spending $30 to have someone crack open a can of Prego and pour it on some noodles that I went to Pizza Planet and brought it back to eat with the family. This time I was excited to see they had a dedicated vegan option again. But I gotta say, it kinda sucks. The vegan community is doing some amazing things with cauliflower right now but this ain’t it. I found it bland and uninspired. We bought three of those and there is nothing worse than when three people get the same expensive entree (because it is your only option) and it sucks. You can’t ask for something else because there is nothing else. I mean, I ate mine, because I was starving, but my wife and daughter really didn’t. This ranks as one of my worst dining experiences ever. I won’t go there again unless the menu is updated.

At DCA, I found better options than the Blue Bayou at Award Wieners, Cocina Cucamonga, and the nacho cart next to Monsters, Inc. They were all passable, with the nachos being the best option (they kept questioning whether I wanted vegan cheese instead of dairy, so stay on your toes).

The only thing I have found to be amazing is the ronto-less garden wrap in Star Wars Galaxy’s Edge. Those are amazing and I don’t think I will eat anything else while I am there. Except for Dole Whip. I could live in a house made of that stuff.

    1. I’m sorry you didn’t like it 😦 I really enjoyed it, as you can see in the post, but I can’t predict whether every single person will like it. I’m sorry you were angry, it is impossible for me to predict everyone’s taste buds. I thought it was delicious though. This is the first bad review I’ve heard of it; everyone else who has told me about having it has said that they loved it.

  5. Thank you for the valuable information regarding vegan restaurants at Disneyland. This morning we wanted avocado toast at the Disneyland hotel Tangaro. We were told the only thing vegan about the avocado toast is the avocado itself and the seaweed topping. The bread is Hawaiian sweet bread and has dairy in it. It was a bummer. Yesterday we ate our way through the park vegan and had a blast! Thank you again for all of your time writing this guide.

    1. I’m so glad the information is helpful to you! Yes, I have asked that same thing about the avocado toast at Tangaroa Terrace, there’s no way to veganize it unfortunately. I don’t include all of the ways that the non-vegan things are non-vegan in these guides because it would become so much longer if I did! I would encourage you to write an email to Disneyland (google “Disneyland feedback form”) and ask for more vegan options for example to make a vegan version of the avocado toast! The more of us write, the more gets done. I’m so glad you were able to eat your way through the park and find great stuff to eat! ❤

  6. You are amazing! I’ve pre-planned our dining for tomorrow thanks to this immense aid. We have Felucian Kefta & Hummus and Ronto-less Garden as musts on our list. I’m deftly more skeptical about BBQ Tofu, Farro Risotto, and Cauliflower Tacos but have them on the list in case.
We may just share one of everything as our own taste test.

We will revisit this site to plan for DCA in a couple of weeks. Thanks:)

  7. I reference your blog and social media every trip to the parks. Thank you!

The other day I finally got to enjoy the Blue Bayou’s vegan dish! I mentioned that I was looking for a vegan wine to get and the server responded with, “I’ve never been asked that before”. Here’s hoping I was able to help at least one more person think about it 🙂 I did some quick googling while there to get something but I wanted to get the full list. Here’s the current list (as of 1/27/2022) of vegan alcoholic options at Blue Bayou. I used a combination of various google sites, Barnivore, and the vineyards’ company websites:

Miner Family Winery, Chardonnay, Napa Valley
Le Grand Courtâge, Blanc de Blancs Brut Grand Cuvée, France
Duckhorn Vineyards, Sauvignon Blanc, Napa Valley
Flowers Vineyards, Pinot Noir, Sonoma Coast
    Far Niente, Chardonnay, Napa Valley
    Flambeaux, Zinfandel, Dry Creek Valley
    Hurricane Cocktail
    Abita Amber Lager
Karl Strauss® Boat Shoes Hazy IPA

    1. Oh awesome! Thank you for looking those up! Yeah, wine lists seem to change so often, that it’s hard for me to keep up with them, so I haven’t included them in the blog in a while, it’s easier for people to look up the current list than for me to try to keep every list updated here on the blog. I’m so glad you enjoyed the new dish at Blue Bayou!! It’s one of my favorites!!

  9. This was so helpful! Thank you for the great info! The last time we went to Disney a few years ago it felt like there were zero options. It is nice to see Disney is slowly expanding their options. They still aren’t the greatest, but it’s a start! (Hopefully more healthy drinks will be the next thing they also work on lol) We just went yesterday and I’m so glad I found your post before we went. It really helped save time to know where to go. Thank you!!!!!!

  10. No more cinnamon sugar pretzels and loaded dole whips (with the crystalized hibiscus)? We pretty much lived on those at Disneyland, my family will be gutted if they are really gone!

  11. I want to thank you so so much!! I don’t know how but I was born with food allergies to all dairy, all nuts, all seafood, coconut and soy, so I was really trying to find other food I could eat that wasn’t just chicken tenders and fries. It’s of course sad, but I’ve grown to live with it. This saves me so many phone calls and research! Thanks again! I’ll be showing this to my parents!
